You've had the chance to read what we've said about ourselves and what the press has said about us, here you can read the opinions that really count, our members. Here's what some of our Connectors and Hirers have had to say about us:
Greg Grimer - hiring on Zubka
Founder of Voices in Business
Greg's previous career has seen him working with a number of international markets and has enabled him to build up an impressive network of contacts. As the "archetypal new business salesperson", Greg is always looking out for new ways to add value to the relationships he's developed and Zubka has opened up a new world of valuable opportunities for this seasoned networker. Apart from the rewards to be gained by referring people he knows to jobs on Zubka, Greg has also had 39 of his contacts sign up to the service too, meaning that any successful referral by them in turn also rewards him. Greg is the Founder of Voices in Business, a highly innovative new media firm that invites leading experts in different fields to discuss the opportunities and challenges of their sector. Zubka's low fees and payment on success model means that as a hirer he can tap into a risk-free alternative to traditional recruitment and perhaps also find some potential candidates he couldn't reach elsewhere. Voices in Business is currently seeking a Pharmaceutical / Bio Tech industry player to drive this sector of its business forwards. If you know anyone who might fit the bill, then refer them on and watch out for more vacancies from this company on the job board as it thrives and serves more industry verticals. He told us: "I really see the value of this type of model and the additional opportunities it brings to me both personally and professionally. The benefits as both a Connector and hirer are significant and I'm already working on referring people for a number of vacancies posted on Zubka - as well as looking to source Zubka referred candidates for my business."
Robert Loch - refers for Zubka
Founder of Internet People
Robert first met Zubka when the company attended an Internet People event in October 2006. "Zubka is a great example of a winning web 2.0 business", he says. Internet People was set up with the aim of creating a London hub for internet people. The organisation runs a series of focused events for the industry and is the UK's leading community for the internet sector. To date over 400 companies have attended the events and many fruitful relationship have been formed. Robert is also a serial entrepreneur, having set up a number of successful internet businesses including Soflow Inc and MarketingVOX. Robert has developed an enviable network of contacts during his career which he is utilising to great effect on Zubka. A recent referral has just converted into a reward fee of Β£4000 for recommending a friend in the internet space for a vacancy on the Zubka job board. "The whole process was actually very straightforward and simple. Already knowing my contact's experience and skills meant that I could quickly pull out and communicate the relevant aspects of their CV to the hirer, which vastly speeded up the recruitment cycle for everyone involved. The reward feels more like a 'win' than a 'wage' and so I'm planning to do something fun with it, such as a weekend away with some friends. I'd recommend everyone with a good network of professional contacts takes a look at the jobs and rewards on offer." Demos Recruitment 2020
How recruitment is changing and why it matters, Duncan OLeary, Niamh Gallagher
A recent research project by Demos, the think tank for everyday democracy included information on Zubka as an early adopter of the shift towards connecting with the passive job seeker. They state that Zubka recognises that with the right incentives and rewards, people are willing and able to unlock the enormous value in their personal networks. Zubkas site invites people to refer friends, family and former colleagues for jobs that they think those people will be great at and, unlike the 90 per cent of people who are not normally rewarded for their efforts, Zubka Connectors win a commission when a candidate is successfully placed. Added to this the idea that people can recommend others as Zubka Connectors and will, in turn, be rewarded for any successful placements that those people make in the future. If it succeeds and there is every suggestion to think it will the Zubka workforce could consist of millions of people drawing on their own personal networks and knowledge.
